Week 3, RSS/Week 4, Image Generators

With dial-up here at home, it's becoming nearly impossible for me to continue with 23 Things. It's taking far too much time and I'm not able to complete the discovery items. As much as I would like to continue and be a part of this with everyone, I may have to just do what I can and not be able to actually get to do some of the discovering. I've really enjoyed seeing how much everyone else has been able to do.

# 7: Technology

I'm afraid the Flickr and tags, groups, etc. just went over my head. I do appreciate the technology that is available to share photos. I don't have a digital camera or a scanner but I did take a look at the Picasa site. We have limited technology here at home. I have two book discussion groups to read and prepare for here at home so I have to limit my time exploring any technology other than any that will help me make the most of the time that I do have. I wasn't able to open the podcast which I'm sure would have helped me understand this week's "thing."

Week 2, Creating a blog

I was a little afraid of creating the blog but after reading some that were already done by others at FCPL, I was encouraged to forge ahead. Although I'm not sure how I ended up with the template that I did, I'm content to keep it. I'm working on this from home so I'm not able to listen to the podcasts very easily. I actually had to allow them to load while I did other things for hours before I could actually listen to the audio and view the slide presentation for the first week's assignment. I will try to continue to work on these 23 Things. Several times, I have gone to withdraw from it but couldn't seem to bring myself to do the deed. I want to do this for myself -- not for the CEUs that can be earned.

7 and 1/2 lifelong learning habits

The hardest habit for me has been viewing problems as a challenge. I have had a tendency to view those sneaky daily problems as one crisis after another but with support from my co-workers whom I also consider to be dear friends, I'm learning to be flexible. I'm so grateful to work with such forgiving and accepting people!

I do think the easiest habit for me is confidence in myself as an effective learner. I do get a little nervous about learning something new but there is always someone there to help out along the way.
